THE NEW LAUDERDALE SOCCER CLUB
After the COVID-19 pandemic soccer will be back in better shape
COVID-19 has disturbed our lives and the old routines, but the good news is that it is a bright light at the end of the tunnel! Lauderdale Soccer Club has restructured as well as the main league we participate in, Florida Gold Coast League (FGCL or “GOLCO”).
Let’s start with FGCL first. The League is now a formal, non-profit, tax-exempt Premier Adult league fully affiliated with Florida State Soccer Association (FSSA) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) which allows their members to participate in the Lamar Hunt Cup. Therefore LSC will play in the 2020-2021 FGCL season, the 2021 South Florida Champions Cup, and, if competitive enough, in the Lamar Hunt Cup 2022.
FGCL has a new Board of Directors, a new administrator, and a new league page that is top class. The page has been developed with a grant/donation from Dr. Meeroff and it will be available for public access very soon.
LSC is also re-structuring using national models from the most prestigious clubs in the country. Now players who successfully go by the tryout selection and complete the club's registration process will obtain a yearly USSF player pass and will get playing time in the team. In the new LSC, players will take responsibility and pride for their participation in the team. LSC will have a coaching staff and a general manager to conduct team operations.
Plan to be part of LSC! Remember that we finished first in the 2019-2020 liguilla and eventually will have to play the 2019-2020 robin-round winners to determine the 2019-2020 overall league champion.
