Club Philosophy
When we say, “Home of the Homeless,” you may be thinking to yourself - what does that mean?
It’s natural, and our club philosophy is grounded in that phrase for so many reasons, but mainly - it embodies the culture that no matter where you are from - if you provide the effort - you will find your place at Lauderdale Soccer Club.
LSC’s humble beginnings take us back to 1995 and a ragtag group of youth soccer players congregating in Fort Lauderdale’s Holiday Park - a haven for the areas homeless population. With that backdrop, where are players were only being seen by the city’s homeless, they dedicated themselves to building a legacy of success.
A few years later, when Lauderdale Soccer Club was on its way to its first championship final, it was a halftime coach’s speech that laid the foundation for this battle cry. Tied 1-1 and staring elimination in the face against a club with more financial means, it was the vision of our Holiday Park crowd watching us work harder than anyone else that led our team to victory. We didn’t need the best uniforms, we didn’t need the matching street wear - we just needed heart, hardwork and passion.
That is where, “Home of the Homeless,” comes from.
Our mission is to enrich the development of soccer in our community and to provide our community with an outlet to enjoy the game.
All aspects of our club, from player registration to ticket prices, will remain at a level that provides access to all members of our local community.
We are here to increase the level of talent at all ages in the game of soccer. From players to coaches to fans, we want to educate.
As the sport changes, so will our approach with the focus being on each member of our soccer family.
